Dr. Dog Visits Autistic Childrens Center

This is the second visit of Dr. Dog Penang. They were invited to visit the Autistic Childrens Center. The center helps parents on how to cope with their children and also teaches the kids to do daily things.

When the dogs arrived, everyone was excited and couldn't wait for the program to start. The program started with an introduction of the dogs and their handlers. They were then separated into different stations to give each kid a chance to interact with the dogs. Below are some photos of the events.

Dr. Dog visits Dalat International School

There is a new dog program in Penang. It is called Dr. Dog. This program is an animal assisted therapy (AAT) programme which assisted numerous people such as the elderly, physically handicapped, mentally impaired, also orphans. The aim is to reach out and bring a sense of happiness and comfort to patient that needs it most. Currently there are only 2 states which has this service: Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

This is the first visitation of Dr. Dog Penang. The visit is to an international school called Dalat. The dogs were gathered in the field before heading to the hall where the students will meet the dogs. Here are a few photos from the event.

Happenings of 2013

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year. There were both happy and sad times in the year 2013. Here is a list of what happened in 2013:-

1. Our dear friend Daniel, the owner of Sparx & Fritz, has passed away because of kidney failure. He was a musician, photographer and a fighter. He will be missed by all of us.

2. Zara from The Butterfly Chaser's also passed away. She died because of old age. She was a happy and friendly German Shepherd. She will be greatly missed and always be in out hearts.

3. One of our dog was a suitable candidate for the Dr. Dog program and we took her in for an evaluation. To our surprise, she passed the test and now carried the name Dr. She is no other than Dr. Hayley.

4. Since Dr. Hayley has to 'work', we decided to take photos while she and her colleagues are working. In other words, we are the unofficial photographer of Dr. Dog (Penang).

SPCA Family Carnival

Recently SPCA organized a Family Carnival at Youth Park, Penang. It is a dog friendly event with some dogs from the SPCA available for adoption. There is also a Zumba performance and obedience dog show. Below are some of the photos from the carnival:

Sad News

We were recently informed that Milo from A Passion for Bulldogs, had to be put to sleep on the 21st December 2012 due to pneumonia. He was a very affectionate and an active dog. His loveable character will be deeply missed. R.I.P. Milo.

Penang Horse Show 2012

We attended the Penang Horse Show which was held in Penang Turf Club from 30th November until 2nd December. We were there early to watch the opening and also to get some photos of horses doing jumps.

After the equestrian event, we walked around the stalls to see if they have anything interesting. As usual, there are horses on display, fire-breathing demonstration and also horse-shoe making competition.

There is also a stage where some performances were help. The PAAPP was there to demonstrate dog obedience and some simple dog tricks.

This is our way of giving back to society via the animal shelter & sanctuary GrASS and we are also volunteer photographers for GrASS and the PAAPP.

How We Do It?

At Penang Pets Photography we celebrate animals. We are deeply aware of the value animals add to our lives from our work with the GrASS. We would like to create a beautiful photograph of your pet that will be remembered always and in the times to come.

OVERVIEW: We shoot on-location, generally at the client's home, or at our studio located on Penang Island. We prefer our sessions to take on a life of their own and flow easily with your pet's personality and energy level. Pet photography, dog photography in particular, requires constant understanding, adaptability and flexibility!

THE PROCESS: We begin by having a consultation session with the client. This is the first step in creating special images of your pet(s). The consultation is a Q&A session that helps us to learn more about you and your pet so that we are able to obtain a more natural approach in photographing them. If we are shooting at your home expect some additional questions that will help us understand what to expect regarding lighting and backgrounds. If you have chosen a home session, we may request to visit your home prior to the shoot. Sessions on Penang Island are often handled by phone and emails.

THE PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION: Our goal at Penang Pets Photography is to capture images of your pet's personality in their most natural state. Since we will already have a good idea of the final image we'd like to create, this is often the easiest part. Of course, because we are photographing pets - anything can happen! Our vast experience with animals allows us to go with that flow, capture natural expressions, images that are outstanding.

If you choose a LOCATION SESSION we prefer to come to your home where your pet is most comfortable.

The best images are captured when pets feels the most comfortable which allows them to move and act freely. We will shoot both inside (if you prefer) and out using natural light and ask that there be areas of significant shade. We also insist that any outside areas be fenced or secure for your pet's safety.

Some people prefer a STUDIO SESSION. For those pets who acclimate quickly and travel well, a studio session allows us to take a different approach. In the studio we like to get creative with lighting and settings. The sessions are still playful and stress-free - just a bit more controlled. It really depends on the final product you envision as well as your pet's personality.

YOUR IMAGES will be ready two to three weeks or more after your session depending on the workload and we will contact you for an appointment to select the photographs.

ORDERING SESSION: Our photographers are always available, and prefer to meet up with you to finalize your order, review photographs, and discuss your designs.
